What is Qtrax?
Qtrax is the world's first free and legal peer-to-peer (P2P) music download service. The Qtrax application is an open source desktop music player built on the Mozilla platform, paired with a music portal site. With Qtrax, you get instant access to the music that you want, without any legal hassles. Most importantly, since advertising supports Qtrax, the artists are always compensated for their work, with licensing that distributes this digital music online.
How much does Qtrax cost?
Using Qtrax is completely free; all you have to do is download the application, which is also free. There are no monthly or per song charges either.
How does Qtrax use P2P?
Qtrax searches global P2P networks to provide users with the largest and most comprehensive music library available today. Every file that you download runs through a filter, which removes undesired adware, spyware, and/or spoof files. Qtrax is different from other P2P networks because it is completely, 100% legal.
How big is Qtrax's music catalog?
Eventually, Qtrax will have millions of songs available for downloading. Qtrax accesses the universe of P2P directly, which has an ever-expanding galaxy of files. If it's available on P2P, you will eventually be able to get it on Qtrax.
What Operating Systems is the Qtrax player compatible with?
Qtrax is currently compatible with Microsoft Windows XP and Vista. Mac OS X beta is currently in development.
When is the Mac version of Qtrax going to be available?

Can I use the Qtrax player as a web browser?

You may be familiar with the Firefox browser, which is also based on Mozilla and is one of the most functional, safe and secure platforms available. You can browse within the window of the player, with all of the features that you would find in a traditional browser, all while having direct access to your music files and media player controls.
Can I burn songs I download from Qtrax onto a CD?

Can I put songs that I download onto my iPod/MP3 player?

The screen is too big. Is there anyway to minimize screen size without making it disappear?
Minimum resolution supported by Qtrax is 1024 by 768 pixels. You can minimize the screen to this size. You can also minimize the player using the minimize icon present on the Qtrax player’s title bar.
What should I do when the error message, “Bookmarks.Songbirdnest.com: 443 uses an invalid security certificate” is prompted when Qtrax is opened?
Please check the date and time of the system clock on your machine. If your system date is old, reset date and install Qtrax again.
